Events to Visit in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire This Year

With the mayhem of the new year behind us, we’re all looking forward to what the year ahead has in store for us. These exciting plans may include sunny holidays abroad, trips to visit family closer to home and day trips to key events throughout your county. Unfortunately, Cherwell’s team can’t help you with your summer holiday or weekend away to see family, but we can share with you some of the events taking place throughout Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire that could be worth your time in 2017.

Nocturne Live at Blenheim Palace

With over 300 years of history to discover, Blenheim Palace is among the most popular places to visit in Oxfordshire. This is particularly the case between 15th and 18th June, when the iconic palace plays host to Nocturne Live yet again.

Nocturne Live features a series of concerts from a vast array of talents, including R&B icons Kool & The Gang and The Jacksons. Those with an ear for more classical performances will also be delighted to hear that award-winning composer Max Richter will be performing. The concerts do, of course, also feature post-concert drinks and a three-course meal for those who are feeling peckish.

Flower Show at Blenheim Palace

For the sixth year, Blenheim Palace will be playing host to its iconic flower show between the 23rd and 25th June. The show, which is often held during the warmest week of the year, features an abundance of the world’s finest plants and specialists in the various fields of gardening.

The show often proves popular among those with a deep love for their garden or those simply looking for a delightful and calm day out with the family. Anybody in search of a gazebo, greenhouse or gardening supplies will be pleased to hear that the shopping village will also be returning. Plus, with Cherwell exhibiting you’ll be able to explore the benefits new windows and doors could provide you and your home.

The Cotswold Show at Cirencester Park

With dogs galore, superb falconry and delicious food, there are few who would not enjoy a day at wonderful Costwold Show. This is particularly the case when access to the show, which takes place on the 1st and 2nd July, will set adults back only £11.

The Cotswold Show is also home to a vast shopping area, where you will find wonderful craft, health and clothing products from brands such as the Yorkshire Clothing Company. You will also find Cherwell’s team showcasing our wonderful range of windows and doors to visitors.

The Henley Show

In its 125th year, The Henley Show is set to deliver the iconic agricultural, horticultural and livestock shows it has become famous for in past decades, on the 9th September. What’s more, the entire family will be thoroughly entertained by the ferret racing and tractor ploughing competitions already featured in the timetable of events.

We’re pleased to say that Cherwell will also be at this year’s Henley Show. Therefore, if you’re looking to rejuvenate your home with newly installed windows or doors, please do drop by and say hello to our friendly team.
